Connie Zegers (born 1957 in Hertogenbosch, Holland) has always had a great passion for drawing and painting. After taking her degree in Industrial Design, she worked for many years as a packaging designer for Hema. Since 2000, as a self-employed graphic designer and illustrator, she has worked for, among others, Etos, Hema, C&A and Algemeen Dagblad. Since 1992 she has painted on commission; different subjects but mainly portraits in a variety of styles.
Connie first came to Corfu in 1983. She stayed only for for a week but had a great time. She returned the following year, and subsequently each year after.
"Each visit was brilliant," she remembers. "It was so easy to get to know the locals, and there were also many tourists who came back year after year, so it was never a problem to go there by myself. Which I still do." Nowadays, Connie sentimentally calls Corfu her second home.

As for the painting, it started when she did a small painting of the Zanzibar as a present for the landlady. During recent visits to Corfu, Connie has devoted her time to painting rather than more typical tourist activities.
